It's the most fun and inspiring way to start February! This weekend we had a blast at Pregnant then Screwed Live in London. 9-2-3 were on the Flexible Working panel, answering questions about all things flex, alongside fellow flexible working specialists: Annie Auerbach, author of Flex, Anna Ives from HR Puzzle, Louise Deverell-Smith from Daisy Chain, Cheney Hamilton from Find Your Flex and Suzi Broadaway from Pairents. The panel was chaired by Upasni Bhadhal, diversity and inclusion specialist and founder of Career Collective.
What really struck us on Saturday was how emotional the issue of flex can be for mothers. Having a baby is all at once brilliant, exhausting, euphoric and stressful. It is absolutely life-changing on all levels. So, when women return to the workplace, it makes sense to be accommodating. Your old work routine may no longer serve you or your family commitments , but that doesn’t render new mums incapable of doing their job. At such a transformative time, it really makes sense for employers to be FLEXIBLE!
We loved being among like-minded activists, professionals, and speakers in the name of workplace equality. Head to Pregnant then Screwed to check out the full line-up. Well done Joelie and her team!
