In the 3rd week of August, active job adverts hit the highest number of 2022 so far - 2.08 million jobs. There were 269,000 new jobs posted, the second highest figure recorded for 2022. The first was the week before at 309,000. (Data from REC)
Now, if you’re like many other companies and held off hiring during the summer holidays, getting the message out about your role and finding spot on candidates, is going to be like finding a matching pair for Every. Single. One. of your child’s socks - nigh on impossible. And frustratingly time consuming.
But there is light at the end of the sock pairing tunnel. A recruitment agency could be the queen of all drawer tidies, the knight that banishes the washing machine sock black hole…
OK, so we’ll stop with the odd sock analogies but here’s why bringing on a recruitment agency could be one of the best decisions you make:
1. The Time
The internet is awash with data on the time it takes to hire someone varying from an average of 17 days all the way up to 49 days depending on industry. And this begins when someone applies – not from the time an advert goes up.
Do you want to spend your time, as a business owner or manager, not focusing on the business at hand, but circumventing unsuitable candidates, arranging interview dates, sending feedback, and posting on multiple jobs boards? Recruitment agencies can do this leg work for you.
2. We know the right candidates
It’s a recruitment agency's job to interview people and find the right job for them. Instead of posting blindly on to jobs boards and hoping that dream candidate will pop up, they actively go on the hunt!
Here at 9-2-3 we talk to people looking for jobs, day in, day out. And more often than not we can think of someone right away who could fit your role. Unlike some other recruitment agencies, we’ve organically grown our pool of high calibre professionals since 2015. We don’t buy lists – we get those hard-to-reach candidates who perhaps aren’t on LinkedIn or registered with a mainstream agency, and vet every single one to make sure you find the right fit for your company.
And because we specialise in professionals seeking flexible roles, we represent candidates from a variety of sectors - the majority are graduates with many years experience in their field.
3. But don’t recruitment agencies cost a lot of money?
Recruitment agencies take a % fee based on the salary only once someone is firmly placed in the role. And if the right fit can’t be found, you don’t get charged. That’s how we work here at 9-2-3. It costs nothing to engage us.
Yes, in some cases the final figure might be large, but if you calculate the hundreds spent on job ad sites and use your hourly rate to calculate time spent sifting through CVs and calling candidates, it can often be more cost effective (and far less stressful!).
4. Building a relationship
We know that recruitment agencies can sometimes get a bad rep (sometimes we’re even lumped in with the estate agent stereotype *shudder*) with some agencies cold calling endlessly and sending so many CVs over just to meet their KPIs….
But for us, one of the most important, and enjoyable things, about being a recruitment agency is building a relationship with our clients.
We aim to be your trusted partner - and take the stress out of the recruitment process for you.
We seek to understand the ins and outs of your company culture and the needs and requirements of the job role’s colleagues. This fresh-pair-of-eyes insight not only allows us to find the right candidate but into the future enables us to suggest people for upcoming roles or advise on why a role might not be getting the right applicants.
5. Don’t just take our word for it
